FACT:

You WILL get messy in art class.
Reading German is way easier if you understand it from the beginning.
My roommate is an excellent whistler.
We finally have consistent hot water.
Boys are incredibly stupid.
When you grocery shop late at night, you will come back with way more than is on your list.
I need to learn how to cook a sweet potato.
If you are running late for work/class, your roommate WILL get in the shower right before you need to brush your teeth.
Gas is expensive.
Free meals are the most exciting part of my week.
Hegel is confusing.
FHE groups are meant to be full of strange guys.
The leaves are changing colors and I pulled out my electric blanket.
Facebook is the ultimate waste of time.
Greek food is amazing.
Traffic is the ultimate bore.
Conservation lectures are the bomb.
There are not nearly enough outlets in this room.

Someday I'll have something more exciting to say, but considering a certain someone was complaining I never post the other day (cough cough you know who you are...) this will have to do.

PSCYH! And I totally forgot to post on the one year anniversary of the creation of this blog!!! Oh I'm super bummed now...I was planning something big. Happy one year mark everyone!

Cool Title

So...despite the awkward combination of Simple Plan and Natasha Bedingfield (Whaaaat?) and the fact that NB looks waaaaay too old, I find this song remarkably catchy, clever, and cute. Triple "C" threat. Bam. Just...don't judge it by the video because I just watched it and felt my IQ drop a little. Song only. Song only. When was the last time either of these guys got a song on the radio...?

Ps. I really hate people who post videos endlessly on their blog. But I like posting, I'm bored, and my camera battery is dead so I have no pictures...it's a bad combo all around. And it really is a great song!

Also, I'm getting really tired of this whole writing to myself thing...so since I actually have a few (maybe...?) readers now, feel free to comment on my blog so I don't sound like I'm blogging to myself, which, despite popular opinion, is statistically considered crazier than talking to yourself.

Okay, okay. No more doughnuts after 9:00. Unless it was a rough day. Then everything is free game.

Bits and Pieces

It's definitely been an interesting week. Or more. Nuff said. Here's my hot sister on her first day of school. Yeah...seriously delayed. Get over it.

I don't do back to school pictures anymore. Not only do I not have anyone to take pictures for me, but it's no longer exciting in the same way. This year was strange because I wasn't going to school to see all my old friends or get a social life again. I put on the only new shirt I had and walked to campus by myself and the first time I talked was when I called my mom on the way home to let her know I survived. It's definitely strange being at school without all my besties who are out saving the world in the best way they can: by spreading the gospel.

As the days continue, I'm falling into a pattern. I'm working my way up to my intended 20 hours a week (the first week I only managed about 4) and I'm getting a hang of my classes. I've started sorting out the whole, "This is what I am supposed to do, this is what I NEED to do, and this is what I'm capable of doing." And I'm liking my classes. Some days more than others...somebody just let me know if they have an inspiring idea for a work form the Canon I can analyze in every way possible because I'm not too psyched about mine. And meanwhile if anyone needs German translated, I'm totally capable. Though if you'd like to contribute to the dictionary that was recommended for the class, I could still use $200.00. WHAT?! $200.00 for a dictionary you might ask? It's true. And those are the used ones. Please google "German-English Dictionary: Art History to Archaeology, Mary L. Apel" and find me a cheaper one. DARE.

Well, I'm only adding to this now because I'm bored and have nothing better to do, aka you are probably finding me very boring as I'm spouting more and more nonsense. Guess I'll go make the rounds of people I need to visit. Aka go crash on Cindy's couch while telling woe-is-me stories and laughing about the crazy people in her ward. :) Life, is good.

California

Not too many pics from Cali...mostly we shopped and sat by the pool. But we did make it to the beach. It was a bit cold to play, so Sunday afternoon we settled for a picnic and wading in the freezing water just so we could say we went.

She couldn't resist.

Turning to run from a gigantic wave that surprised even me and soaked me to the waist shortly after this pictures. The next wave tripped Elora causing Jackson to trip over her and then basically everyone was wet.

First time at the beach - total beach bum.

Party rockin' the beach.

I am lately obsessed with this song. It's been stuck in my head all day. And so I share it with you. Please, enjoy. Just enjoy.

The Road to Vegas

Since Ashlee is recently engaged, the three "little girls" decided we needed a grand adventure before we become the Two Musketeers instead of three. Plus...our original family plan to vacation in Cali got cancelled and we were only slightly devastated. Off we went - happy road trip faces!

We took off Thursday and drove to Vegas. It was an eventful drive. We even let Emily drive a little, but had to switch drivers after she got honked at by a semi... We cheered when we passed the mountain where the rock changes from brown to red.

I shouted, "Look at the transition!" Emily said, "How do you know they're not rocks? Keri, those aren't leaves, you idiot!" I said, "Who said anything about leaves?" That caused Ashlee to laugh so hard she cried.

And then we got a super ugly picture of her as she tried to compose herself.

Life was beautiful coming into Vegas - due both to the scenery and the glorious knowledge that Emily would soon be rid of her "butt cramp."

Our hotel was gargantuan. Just...google South Point. The rooms were spacious and posh, though the mattresses and pillows were hard. In my opinion, the enormous two room bathroom made up for it. We soon discovered Emily has a fear of casinos far worse than her fear of hobos, and this sign in the bathroom did not help her one bit.

The next day we took some time out of our journey to shop at the outlets in Barstow. I scared a Chinese lady when I hid while Emily took a potty break.

We drove into to Cali guided by the plume of smoke from a wildfire - fortunately far from our destination.

Ashlee and Daniel met up for dinner while Em and I took the kids for a swim. Later Ash, Em, Melia and I went hot-tubbing. Such was day one and two. I'll finish when I feel like it.
